From December 4-15, GRACEPOINT will partner with Glory Haus to collect gently used, laundered, long sleeved men's shirts.
Did you know a shirt could give someone a job? Sounds crazy, but it’s true!
Made by hand in the Repurposed on Purpose workroom at Glory Haus, used men’s shirts take on new life and give women jobs. Glory Haus, in partnership with MUST Ministries, is helping women who are transitioning out of difficult situations. The Repurposed on Purpose workroom is a place of hope, community and security, created through full-time employment and life-giving relationships.
Glory Haus invites you to get involved in the work God is doing through Repurposed on Purpose. With your donation of gently used, long sleeve and laundered men’s shirts, you are providing hands-on artisan employment for women in our community.
The demand for these repurposed and fashionable shirts is high. We’ve created and sold close to 700 shirts! (We stopped counting after 520) The Repurposed on Purpose workroom currently employs four women full-time and two part-time. Every fifteen shirts donated means another day of full-time work for one of our women. What if you donated 30 shirts? That’s two women working for one day. What if you donated 300 shirts? That’s 20 women for one day each, or 4 women for 5 days.
Look in your closets, ask your local dry cleaner to donate unclaimed shirts, get your friends, family and neighbors involved. Shirts really can give someone a job. It’s not so crazy when God is involved!
