Elese Allen joined the GRACEPOINT faculty in 2020 and is currently in her sixth year as a 3rd-grade teacher here - her 29th year of teaching overall. Prior to GRACEPOINT, Mrs. Allen taught at North Cobb Christian for 14 years - 10 of them in third grade. She also taught fifth grade at Cartersville Elementary for nine years. Mrs. Allen is a native of Mississippi but has lived in Georgia for over 30 years. She received her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Union University in Jackson, TN, and her master's degree from the University of West Georgia in Middle Grades Education. Mrs. Allen is a graduate of The Complete Reading Series and certified as a Classroom Educator by the Orton-Gillingham Academy. Mrs. Allen developed a passion for educating dyslexic learners when her own daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia almost 20 years ago. She loves seeing dyslexic learners come to realize just how smart they really are and recognize that God not only created them but has a plan for their life.

In her spare time, Mrs. Allen enjoys laughing, singing in the choir, reading for pleasure, leading women's Bible studies, walking with her husband, and cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs. She and her husband, John, have been married for 32 years and attend church in Cartersville where he is on staff.  They have two grown children.  Currently, Mrs. Allen's favorite song is "I Know a Name" by Brandon Lake and CeCe Winans. A favorite verse is Psalm 119:89-90, "Your word, LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures."
