Martha barfieldMartha Barfield is blessed to be starting her eighth year at GRACEPOINT, teaching reading and science for grades 1-3.  She has a degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University.  Mrs. Barfield is a classroom certified Reading teacher with the Orton-Gillingham Academy and is certified in the Wilson Reading System.  She was inspired by her son, who struggled with reading, to learn how to teach and to encourage those with dyslexia. She and her husband live in Woodstock.

Mrs. Barfield is passionate about hands-on and discovery learning in science and took part in the Math Science Partnership (MSP) program at Kennesaw State in 2016.  She desires to promote curiosity and inspire a love of science along with a greater understanding and appreciation of God’s creation. One of her favorite Bible verses is  2 Corinthians 4:6, 7: “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.  For we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”
