Science Weekly Blog October 10-14, 2016

Hello all! I hope you and your family had an awesome weekend enjoying the weather and your family. This Monday, Wednesday and Friday are A days for science. Tuesday and Thursday are B days. 5A and 6th grade are A day classes and 7th and 5B are B day classes. 8th grade meets every day. 1st-4th meet on specific days each week. Here is the low down for this week.

Note: I am absent on Monday. I have a retinologist and podiatrist appointment. Thank you for understanding. Please make sure you 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders have shown you their Green Notebooks. 6Th and 7th will come home later this week. A few students have started presenting their projects. These have been so inspiring!! I will be sending the updated Science Method Project Presentation schedule Tuesday of this week. Thank you for your support. Your children have been very empowered by his/her presentations. I will notify you when all the grade level presentations have been completed and when the vocabulary tests will be given.

8th: Every Day On Monday, they will take their Case Study Scavenger Hunt Test. This will be an Open Note Test but will be taken individually. They will continue lab applying what we learned about Bridge Building.

7th: Tuesday and Thursday This week, the students will continue the lab called "Fatty Foods". The Lab procedure will receive a Quiz grade and the Lab Reflection will receive a Test grade.

6th: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday This week, the students will continue the lab called "Great Ice Cube Race". The Lab procedure will receive a Quiz grade and the Lab Reflection will receive a Test grade.

5th: 5A (Monday. Wednesday, and Friday) 5B (Tuesday and Thursday) This week, the students will continue the lab called "Paper Airplane Experiment". The Lab procedure will receive a Quiz grade and the Lab Reflection will receive a Test grade.

4th: Tuesday-1-1:30 and Thursday-1:30-3 This week, the students will continue the lab called "Which is the Most Absorbent?" The Lab procedure will receive a Quiz grade and the Lab Reflection will receive a Test grade.

3rd: Tuesday-1:30-3 and Thursday-1-1:30 This week, the students will continue the lab called "Are Yellow or White Kernels the Best?" The Lab procedure will receive a Quiz grade and the Lab Reflection will receive a Test grade.

1st/2nd: Monday 1:30-3 and Wednesday-2:30-3 This week, the students will continue the lab called "Which is the Tastiest Popcorn?" They will complete a Lab Reflection Sheet during and after the experiment. They will also create a Scientific Method Procedure Wheel.
