This week!

Parents,

Don't forget this Friday is our field trip to the Booth Museum in Cartersville. The kids can wear their house shirt and regular uniform bottoms. If you ordered a lunch from Renweb, you may want to go in and cancel it since we won't be here.  Don't forget to send a sack lunch and a bottle of water for your child. Please send it in a throw away sack. We will eat there after the tour.

Also, since we had a snow day, we are going to wait and have our Shiloh quiz next week.  We will not have one this week, so no need to rush to study all the vocabulary. We will probably combine this week and next week's chapters along with the vocabulary.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Hello!

Hello Parents,

So glad to have everyone back and ready to get back to work. They all seemed to have had a wonderful break.

For Language Arts:
We started the novel study on Shiloh last week. The students will get vocabulary words each week and we will have a comprehension and vocabulary quiz each Friday for the duration of the book. You can find the vocabulary words in their take home binder. Please help your child review them throughout the week.

Social Studies:
We finished up our study on the War of 1812 and are starting to learn about Westward Expansion.

Our field trip to The Booth Museum is scheduled for February 1st and they will get to learn even more about Westward Expansion.

Some other upcoming dates:
MLK Jr. Day Jan 21 - no school
Booth Museum Field Trip - Friday, Feb 1
Feb 15 - half day
Feb 18 & 19 - Winter Break - no school
Feb 23 - GP Gala @ Ivy Hall in Roswell

Hello 4th grade Parents!

Reading - We are working on ey for long e this week.  Please remind your kids to read their fluency stories every night two times each out loud.  Also, practice spelling the red words.  They can do 5 a night.  They are doing a great job and are so much fun to teach!

Math - We are still continuing to work on long division and multi digit multiplication.  Ask your child to teach you our method for long division with dad, mom, sister, brother, & rover. Keep working on multiplication facts to make other concepts come easier.  They are working hard!

Langauge Arts - We will continue to review all the common parts of speech. This week we are reading The Case of the Gasping Garbage.  We will have a show what you know over vocabulary/comprehension next Tuesday, Dec 11.  Please remind you're child to review the vocabulary that is in their binder.

Details about our upcoming Christmas Party will come soon.  It is going to be on Friday, December 21 from 10:30 to 11:45.

Merry Christmas!!!

Hello!

Hello again Parents!

I hope you all saw the email I sent out yesterday about the Social Studies project.  Your child was assigned a person in history to research and create a poster about.  Details are on the assignment. It is due September 21, so you have plenty of time, but don't let it sneak up on you like it does me! LOL!!

Your kids are a pleasure to teach everyday and I am really enjoying them!  I hope they are loving school as much as I am!!

Don't forget that fall break is coming up the last week in September.

Have a great week and please email me if you have any questions or concerns.
