Reading Class Update - Week of April 22nd

We had a shorter week in reading but we've been productive! The students have been making a deck of roots that we will laminate and send home eventually. This will be extremely beneficial in the future, as these are some of the most commonly used roots. The students will be able to apply these word parts to vocabulary they'll see in all subject areas.

Next week, we will continue learning more roots, as well as learning how to spell and see chunks of meaning in words with these roots. We'll also be building word sums (with prefixes and suffixes) and reading passages with the roots within.

They are all doing excellent in our Intro. to Morphology class! As always, please let me know if you have questions or concerns.

Reading Class Update - Week of April 15th

We've had a wonderful week in reading as we have started our Introduction to Morphology class! Ms. Strack has been teaching our group, along with another reading group. It's been a fun start to a new way of looking at words, the history of words, and their meanings. We will continue with this the rest of the school year (which is really not that many more days)!

Ms. Strack has gone over the history of language, connectors (often vowels that connect word parts), and chameleon prefixes (prefixes that change when attached to certain roots). It's been challenging but interesting!

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. Have a very Happy Easter and many, many blessing to you and your family. He is RISEN!!!!
