ELA Class Update - Week of April 22nd

Hi ELA Parents! I'm looking forward to our group being back together again tomorrow. I've missed meeting this week. Midterm grades are going home soon, and I wanted to give an ELA update on grading.

As you know, this is our last trimester which means I'm challenging our group to become more independent in their learning and in completion of assignments (classwork and homework). Due to the increase in challenging material in grammar, literature, and writing, their grades might be a bit lower than the first two trimesters. We are continuing to follow the GA standards to best prepare this group for seventh grade. I know effort levels tend to "dip" a little in May too, but I'm really encouraging them to press on.  We'll all encourage each other together!

As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I'm happy to help in any way I can.

Thanks!
Louise Lambert

ELA Class Update - Week of April 15th

We have started our final novel study this week, Number the Stars. Just as a reminder, your children can either read the hard copy book (going home today) or download on Learning Ally. I will be assigning certain chapters each day for homework, and the kids will have some kind of written homework to do with it, as well.

I hope you all have a happy Easter with your family and friends. He is RISEN!!!
