Musical Theater is not only fun but also helps produce creativity and thinking skills when coming up with where the story goes or how a scripted story is told. Not only does it build self-esteem and confidence, but it also enhances teamwork and friendship as a group of actors work and perform together. Singing songs, with their catchy choruses, are repetitive and help listeners with language. Songs are vocalized poems, containing rhyme, cultural idioms, and non-concrete concepts like emotions. Singing teaches auditory discrimination skills, phonological awareness, development of vocabulary, and builds auditory memory.
