Mrs. Barfield's Blog

Martha Barfield is thankful to be starting her third year at GRACEPOINT.  Martha is teaching reading, third grade math, and science for grades 1-3.  She has a degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State and is trained in the Orton Gillingham reading program.  Martha is also certified in the Wilson Reading System.  She previously taught in a private school for students with learning disabilities and continues to work as a private tutor.  She was inspired by her son, who struggled with reading, to learn how to teach and to encourage those with dyslexia.  Martha is passionate about hands-on and discovery learning in science and took part in the Math Science Partnership (MSP) program at Kennesaw State in 2016.  Most importantly, she desires to impart God's love to her students as they learn.  Martha and her husband live in Woodstock.
