Mrs. Barber's Bio
Karen Barber is a native Georgian growing up in Bainbridge, Ga. and has lived in the Atlanta area for 28 years. Karen is a graduate of Florida State University with a Masters degree in Special Education. Karen taught in Cobb County for 23 years supervising and training students with Intellectual Disabilities in Community- Based instruction as well as assisting families in making the transition from public school to adult services. She worked as the S.E.T.S. Teacher (Supported Employment Training Services) program which was a unique Community Based training program based on the campus of Kennesaw State University. Karen retired 8 years ago after 27 years of teaching. Karen is married to her high school sweetheart, Billy and they have 2 children---Elizabeth and Hayes. She enjoys Florida State football, reading, photography, walking, and baking!
Mrs. Barber's 6th Grade Language Arts
- We will complete our My Side of the Mountain EXPLAIN EVERYTHING slide project tomorrow (or as long as it may take)
- We will resume Reading Response Journals (RRJ) this week. PLEASE NOTE THAT A READING LIST WILL BE SENT HOME MONDAY NIGHT! Students will need to choose a book in preparation for Tuesday's lesson! We will spend the remainder of the week modeling/practicing correct written responses.
