Welcome!
Welcome to Mrs. Eisele's reading class! I look forward to getting to know all of my new students this year! This week, we will be reviewing the FLOSS rule. The students will have a reading passage to practice as well as red words. Please be sure to have your child practice these each night all words on their ring. Have a great week!
Red Word Practice Suggestions:
Here are some fun ways to help you learn your red words.
- Use a ball – bounce it, throw it, shoot baskets (say each letter for each movement)
- Make up a rhyme or a rap with the letters of the word
- Write the words- Use sidewalk chalk, dry erase board, colorful pens and pencils
- Trace them in sand, glitter, or shaving cream
- Spell them out with magnets on the refrigerator
- Decorate them with designs that help you remember each letter
- Form the letters of the words with play-doh
- Using a flashlight and keeping the arm and wrist straight, write the letters of the words on a wall with the light.
