Week of September 2-6

I hope everyone enjoyed the Labor Day Holiday! This week in Morphology, we are finishing up our first unit of bases by playing games and doing activities with the vocabulary words using those bases. Speaking of vocabulary, the vocabulary.com assignment is due tomorrow. My goal is to have them practicing the words outside of class. They have note cards with the words on them as well. I've learned that if I only give a few words in an assignment, the computer will randomly assign words to practice. That will be changed for the next unit, but for now, just encourage your child to do his/her best. They are learning some new words in the process, so it isn't all bad. :) On Thursday, we will start a new unit on <host> (enemy, stranger), <hosp> (guest, host), and <nym, nom> (name). Please continue to have your child read 30 minutes per night and review the morphology cards they have. I will be assigning a Freckle article for them to read starting tomorrow and due by Friday. This can be included in their 30 minutes of reading. Have a blessed week.
