We had a great first week in our OG Reading group.!! Your child did a GREAT JOB listening and practicing all of our new routines.  We are reviewing some basic skills like magic e, the floss rule, and using the suffixes s or es for plural.  This week we are going to review several more suffixes (ing, er, est), learn the rule for when to use c or k and reviewing the ck rule.  I think your child is familiar with these skills, they just might not know why they know it or are able to tell the rule.  We are also reviewing Morphology (the study of forms of words - prefixes, bases and suffixes) cards un-, mis-, dis-, dent and dont, s, es, ing, est, er (green for prefixes, black for bases and red for suffixes).  We will have a new red word (sight word) and passage to read Mon. - Thurs. Spending 20-25 minutes a day going over those two things is SO IMPORTANT for your child to see progress.  Thank you in advance!
