Ms. Smith
A graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Early Childhood Education, Kimberly Smith brings eight years of classroom experience to her role as a fifth-grade Lead Teacher at GRACEPOINT. Her professional path includes serving as a pre-K lead teacher and working as an Associate Teacher at The Lovett School with kindergarten and first-grade students. Committed to specialized instruction, she holds certifications in Handwriting Without Tears and Responsive Classroom, has completed a lead teacher fellowship, and is completing 70 total hours of Orton-Gillingham (OG) training.
Ms. Smith's teaching philosophy centers on meeting every child right where they are by understanding their individual strengths, nurturing their personal growth, and equipping them with essential executive functioning skills to foster confident, independent learners. She aims to build a supportive, empowering environment where students thrive academically and spiritually. First introduced to GRACEPOINT through a friend who spotted the school billboard, she is deeply grateful to join and contribute to such a vibrant educational community.
Outside the classroom, family and faith remain central to her life. She loves spending time with her two younger sisters, their families, and her nephews-frequently visiting her youngest sister's working farm filled with chickens, goats, and a donkey. A passionate outdoors enthusiast, she enjoys hiking, learning to play pickleball, and spending time with her beloved rescue dog, Daisy. Her daily life and teaching practice are anchored in Psalm 46:10 "“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." Ms. Smith is deeply grateful for the opportunity to know God and to carry that faith and sense of peace with her each day.
