Mrs. Barfield

Martha Barfield has been a teacher at GRACEPOINT since 2016.  Currently, she is blessed to be teaching reading, math, and science for grades 1-3.  Mrs. Barfield has a degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University and is a classroom certified Reading teacher with the Orton-Gillingham Academy.  She is also certified in the Wilson Reading System.  Mrs. Barfield was inspired by her son, who struggled with reading, to learn how to teach and to encourage those with dyslexia.  She and her husband have lived in Woodstock for almost 40 years.

Mrs.Barfield is passionate about hands-on and discovery learning in science and took part in the Math Science Partnership (MSP) program at Kennesaw State in 2016.  She desires to promote curiosity and inspire a love of science along with a greater understanding and appreciation of God’s creation. One of her favorite Bible verses is  2 Corinthians 4:6, 7: “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.  For we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”
