and when we left that day Brenda said girl we're going to do the name for the school in one week and I left Andy's house day I hope you all figure out what the name is going to because I'm going on a plane to India the next morning I got to India and I was working with some friends in a children's home and the name of the Children's Home was cure Bay and in the middle of the night I feel like the Lord Wake me up inside that was going to be the name of our school until when I got up the next morning I asked my friend I said what does cured mean and she said Grace I would say that the story of Grace Point starts with my middle child Paul who was in first grade was diagnosed with the the thought of having to drive him downtown for a special school and for special training was a little overwhelming so I also at the same time had a really good friend Angie track who son was also recently diagnosed with dyslexia and we knew that he had in struggling in school before then so when we finally found out that dyslexia there was a sense of relief that there was something even at the age of seven he was relieved that there was a reason after there's relief then there's Pat because we do know what to say was I don't know how to help you know my child who I love so much you know what school can help him and there's there's not that many figure out why because they're so many dyslexic people out there and yet there's so few opportunities you know for for these children to go and I and I thought this is Sir problem do so many kids out there that need help there's no place for them that we are two moms with the big crazy dream and we had a friend named Brenda and so we decide to call Brenda and hey what do you think can we start a school on the Northside of Atlanta for our children with dyslexia I keep hearing that I'm going to start of school in the thing I ever want to do is start a school  but he said to me Brenda the Lord is calling you to do that he'll give you everything you need to do that Angie Strack approached me when I was walking down the mountain Kennesaw Mountain and said you want to start a school I sent you find the money in the people and I will give you service is free to start the school this is who's going to help us because it can't be just too passionate mother's we've got to have someone that knows what they're doing behind it all okay well so we'll start out with for kids of course it was Mike and Molly skid control Ashley our first teacher who said yes to us her child and Brenda Fitzgerald grandson so obviously they were what connected to us we are for kids we thought well if this looks like just a home school then that's this was good look like we had less than a year to get to school ready and distort that school in August the kids were going to be with us August so we had no teachers no principal and no Rick you up and no money so we started out and we prayed for 8 because that was what was going to pay the bills and sure enough by October for other families that were related said yes and put their faith in us and we ended up with 8 and it was awesome year next year we expect to maybe as many as 70 children at Christ point the Gopher price point is always been that we would remediate children we would help them learn all the skills and that we would send them back out into the world this will be the school  that other people look at to know how to remediate and help kids with dyslexia I know that we're going to be that premiere if we aren't already
