I hope you have all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed a restful week off from school!

We will introduce two new roots this week during Morphology. The new roots are ject  (to throw or cast) and ceiv/ceit/ceipt (to take or receive).

Last week we studied the roots having to do with water or the sea: hydr, aqua, mar and naut.

Continue to study the root cards at night.

October 15, 2018

Our roots this week are auto, fact/fic/fect, and naus/naut/nav.

The girls are doing such an impressive job with the inferencing pictures we do each week.  They must use the roots we are learning in class to infer what they think is going on in a picture we look at together.  They are certainly a creative group!!

September 20, 2018

Our roots for this week were pel/puls: to push or drive; mit/miss: to send or let go; and fer: to bring, carry or yield.

I hope you all have a wonderful Fall Break and enjoy some time away from school enjoying friends and family!! See you in October!

We are beyond excited to be finally diving into the world of MORPHOLOGY!! We have organized our binders. (That was honestly a lot of fun and quite exciting!) We have introduced our first three roots: aud, phon, and vid/vis.  Be sure to be on the lookout for words containing these roots as you read.  See if your daughter can explain to you the meaning of each root!

It is important that the students review their root cards nightly. They are on a ring much like the red words were on a ring last year.  Although we haven't sent one home yet, we will have stories to read about twice a week containing the roots we are studying.  This will also be homework at night.

I'm so looking forward to our year together! We are off to a great start!!
