Elese Allen is in her fourth year as a 3rd-grade teacher at GRACEPOINT and her 27th year in teaching overall. Prior to GRACEPOINT, Mrs. Allen taught at North Cobb Christian for 14 years - 10 of them in third grade. She also taught fifth grade at Cartersville Elementary for nine years. Mrs. Allen is a native of Mississippi but has lived in Georgia for 35 years. She received her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Union University in Jackson, TN, and her master's degree from the University of West Georgia in Middle Grades Education.  She is trained in the Orton-Gillingham methodology and is a graduate of The Complete Reading Series. Mrs. Allen developed a passion for educating dyslexic learners when her daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia. 

In her spare time, Mrs. Allen enjoys singing, reading for pleasure, going to movies, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. She and her husband have been married for 30 years and have two grown children. Her current favorite song is "Thank God I Do" by Lauren Daigle and she finds peace in Psalm 121.
