I hope everyone enjoyed the surprise few days off. Praying everyone stayed safe during the storm.

A few updates for you:

Friday is book character day!
Friday is a NOON dismissal. There will be no lunch this day.
No school next Monday or Tuesday due to conferences. I emailed you conference details last week. Please contact me if you have any questions about this.
We are going outside for morning exercise and recess. It is cold! Please send your student to school with a GRACEPOINT sweatshirt, pants or leggings, and, if they have one, a winter coat. This does not have to be GRACEPOINT as they will only wear it when outside.
Lunches, two snacks, and a water bottle are still needed everyday.
Homework this week: 1 Seesaw assignment (2D shapes) and "Disguise a Turkey" activity. A letter about this in your student's grey folder. The assignment is due on November 13 and will be used in class that Friday!

What Should Ms. Barber be for Halloween?

My options were Junnie B. Jones, an M and M, and a parrot (chosen by the boys in first grade because of my serious fear of birds, so funny). I loved reading these and seeing how hard they worked on this opinion writing project!

First grade is holding a "Scary Face Contest" for Halloween week as part of our special Halloween celebration.

Hello Parents,

Here are our weekly updates:

November 13: Drive in Movie night
October 30: Book Character Day. Please send in the book your child is planning to dress up as by Friday for approval. This is per Joy.
Tomorrow we will celebrate our 200 class Dojo points goal with a movie in the afternoon. I am bringing students individual bags of popcorn for this time. Please only send a water bottle, lunch, and one snack tomorrow. We will be viewing Toy Story 4.
Homework is due Friday.
