Memory verse:  “Let us keep on running the race marked out for us.”  Hebrews 12:1

CHAPEL
This past week in chapel,  our own Mrs. Cindie Briley talked to us about Knowledge & Determination in her battle with cancer.  She explained that as she faced cancer she found herself very fearful of what was to come. She felt God encouraging her to remember what she did know about Him rather than focusing on what she did not know about cancer. She came up with a list entitled, “What do I know?” of things she knew for certain about God. She repeated that list to herself over and over throughout her battle with cancer and has since shared it with many others. She shared the list with our students on Friday. Mr. Williams had the list printed for all students in the form of a bookmark to refer to whenever they feel fearful, alone, or uncertain.  We hope it encourages you too especially during a year like 2020.

Here is her list:

What do I know?

God is the creator.

God made me in His image.

God loves me.

God’s plan for me is perfect.

God is the great physician, healer and comforter.

Jesus died for me.

God’s plan for me is good.

God will never leave me or forsake me.

With God all things are possible.

God is ALWAYS in control.

God knows what will happen.

God can be trusted.

God will be glorified.

God is my strength.

God is my refuge.

God is mighty.

God cannot be defeated.

HOUSE TIME

This past week during House Time, we had another DANCE PARTY. Students and teachers danced to the Church Clap, the Cha-cha Slide, the hand jive, and more. The weather was perfect and we had a blast.

October Memory verse: “The Holy Scriptures teach you how to be saved by believing in Christ Jesus.  God has breathed life into all Scripture.”  (2 Timothy 3:15-16)

CHAPEL
This past week in chapel, Mr. Williams taught us that “Knowledge is Power.”  He taught us that we gain knowledge at certain times and certain seasons in our lives. We also learned that not all knowledge is good and that we are not given all knowledge at once.

Our goal is to learn the right knowledge and then use it the right way.  This is known as wisdom. Mr. Williams encouraged us to know our Bibles and partner it with wisdom so we know how and when to use that knowledge in the right way.

Knowing God’s Word allows us to recognize lies and choose the truth. He used 2 Timothy 3:16, "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right."
