This week in Third Grade:
ELA- We are currently focusing on ADJECTIVES. We are learning to choose specific adjectives to make our nouns easier to visualize in our writing. We will be working on fall themed creative writing.
Last Friday, we made Adjective Pumpkins. Be sure to check out the pictures on our class blogs.
Math- This week, we will concentrate on subtraction across zeros as well as figuring out addition and subtraction word problems.
Social Studies – On Thursday, we will have a test (SWYK – Show What You Know) over the Indians of Southwest and Plains regions. We will begin the Northeast region on Friday.
Last week, students made teepees and a parfleche. A parfleche is a Native American rawhide container that is embellished by painting, incising, or both. Envelope-shaped parfleches have historically been used to contain items such household tools or foods, such as dried meat or pemmican. They were commonly made in pairs and hung from saddles.
