Last Week of School!
Hello Everyone and Happy Sunday!
I cannot believe tomorrow begins the last week of school.
I will not be sending home a newsletter due to it only being three days. No homework this week!
Our agenda this week:
- Monday: "Luau Day" Today we will be completing "Aloha Summer" writing, completing Hawaiian themed addition and subtraction, destining a Hawaiian shirt, and doing a fun art activity titled "Our Future's so Bright we have to Wear Shades" where students will draw a self portrait of themself wearing sunglasses. Inside the sunglasses they will draw a picture of what they want to be when the grow up. We will have a mystery reader via Zoom. Finally, our class will be taking a trip to second grade for a half hour today. This will be an opportunity for them to see what next year holds. They will get to experience a short block of time as a second grader!
- Tuesday: "Ice Cream Day" We will be doing ice cream math (graphing our favorite flavors, double digit addition) and writing about how sweet our year was. Additionally, we will be joining up with 7th graders to make "ice cream in a bag." There will be lots of topping available for this. The middle school students will then help our class sequence the order of steps for making ice cream in a bag. We will be packing up all of their classroom materials on Tuesday to come home. We will also sign yearbooks at some point throughout the day.
- Wednesday: NOT A LATE START DAY! This day is titled "Fun in the Sun!" It will be a school wide day of fun. Students will be dismissed at 12. There will be outdoor games, Kona ice, and a musical performance. No book bags, snacks, or lunches need to be brought to school on Wednesday. There will be no reading today.
Thank you all so much for an amazing year! I hope your summer is relaxing and fun!
Much Love and God Bless,
Ms. B
