Miss Barber's First Grade Class

Posts

We are officially 2nd Graders in Training!

Students have badges to wear all over school that read "2nd Grader in Training! How am I doing?" Each day, if they are showing me how to act and work like a 2nd grader, they will earn a sticker. They must earn 6 stickers out of the next 8 days. If they do, they will get to bring home some glue in the dark slime!
Good Morning!

Tomorrow is field day and the Giddy Up GRACEPOINT celebration! Please read this following reminders regarding the day!

  • Please wear your HOUSE shirt tomorrow. This is important because we will be taking whole HOUSE pictures in the morning for "the wall" in Hipp Hall (our class has been excited about these pictures for a long time).
  • Fun lunch is Moe's. It is going to be a long and exhausting day, and our class often does not eat much on Moe's days. I suggest sending in two-three snacks just in case they get hungry or need some extra energy.
  • Please make sure your child has a water bottle tomorrow, they will be running around all day.
  • I had the chance to peak at some of the games for the field day portion of the day and there will be several opportunities for your child to get wet. If he or she is made uncomfortable with wet clothes, send in a change of clothes for later in the day (their navy blue spirit tee shirt would be great).
  • I know the older grades are telling students to leave book bags at home tomorrow, however, because we are younger and will have changes of clothes, snacks, water bottles, and their Giddy Up GRACEPOINT tee shirt that will come home tomorrow afternoon, I suggest bringing a book bag or a tote for the day. They will not be having reading so they do not need either of their folders for the day. :)
  • Field day begins at 8:30 and goes until lunch. After lunch, we are the first to run the Giddy Up GRACEPOINT fun run at 1:00! Feel free to come watch even if you didn't volunteer for the day.
  • Fundraising for prizes will continue until Sunday night.
Thank you so much! I know our class did not get to experience field day last year at their old schools due to COVID-19, and I am so excited to experience their first field day with them! Let me know if you have any questions and have a great day!
