I just wanted to send a few reminders before the weekend.

  • The last day of school is May 26. This is a Wednesday but it will NOT be a late start day because it is early release.
  • Next Friday is Giddy Up GRACEPOINT. First grade has done an amazing job raising money. Keep it up! We will also be having field day during this school day.

  • Learning Focuses:
    • Writing: Poetry (writing poetry). You will not be seeing these poems come home as I am creating a book for each student of their poems. However, I have been blown away this week by our classes poems. I cannot wait for you to get to read these.
    • Math: Review old skills
    • Social Studies: Weekly readers
    • Novel Study: Socks by Beverly Cleary (they have been enjoying reading about this silly cat and have done a great job with the work that goes with it. You will see this work come how when we finish the novel hopefully next week).

Have a wonderful weekend and a very, very Happy Mother's Day!

Monday Updates

Hello Everyone,

Thank you all so much for the Glow Day donations! I have several teacher friends who do a Glow Day at the end of each year and have said it is a huge hit. I am looking forward to it. This will be May 12. Please wear all white on this day and I will be buying Pizza for our lunch-so just send in a snack.

Tomorrow is May the 4th! We will be celebrating with spaced themed math and writing activities.

I will not be at school on Wednesday-Heidi Hicks will be the sub all day. It is late start so school begins at 9:15.

Friday is a HOUSE day and is Chick-Fil-A fun lunch. Please order by Wednesday at noon.

No more Seesaw homework (we all did a happy dance this morning)! The next two weeks, they will work on their "A Day in the Life" books for homework. This will review time and writing skills and is due on May 14. They need to take their time on this as it is their only homework other than blue folder/red words. See their grey folder for more information.

Field Day/Giddy Up GRACEPOINT is Friday, May 14.

This week:
  • Math: Reviewing old skills
  • Writing: Writing poetry
  • Social Studies: Weekly readers
  • Novel Study: Socks

Only 18 more days! Enjoy your week and contact me with any questions!
