Magic E: i-c-e

Good morning and Happy Monday! 
 
Today we added Magic E words with I as the long vowel. Some examples include: pine, hike, or spike!
 
We are working on the red word "should" today as well. Tomorrow we will move to "would." 
 
For homework tonight: please practice reading and spelling red words and read the story from class today: Mr. Spike!

Hello All, 
 
Happy Friday! 
 
Today we worked on the new red word "should." We finished up magic e with the long a! 
 
 Next week we will work on magic e with the long u sound. We will review should and work on the red word "would" as well.
 
Please practice your red words and read the story this weekend before a new on comes home on Monday!

Reading Updates

Happy Monday! 
 
Today and tomorrow we are taking the level one "show what you know" assessment! 
 
While students were pulled to do this, we worked on word sums for the suffix -er and introduced word matrixes!
 
Wednesday-Friday will be normal reading. The red word Wednesday will be "could" and we will work on "should" Thursday and Friday.
 
We will begin Level 2 with Magic E (long a words only to begin). 
 
The homework for today and tomorrow is to practice red words (reading and spelling) and read "The Last to Hatch." 
 
Wednesday-Friday the homework will be to practice red words and read the Magic E story "A Stake on the Track."
 
Please contact me with any questions or concerns and remember to be on the look out for report cards to be emailed out by your child's homeroom teacher at some point this week.

Today we reviewed -dge and -tch once again. Please practice old red words tonight for homework and read "Last One to Hatch." Next week we will begin having two read words a week. We will work on "should" and "could" next week and begin Magic E!

Conference Days Review Work

Parents, 
 
Next Monday and Tuesday, while your students are at home, we are going to be assigning review work that must be completed each day. This is so the days can be counted as school days!
 
The assignments for my reading class are as follows:
 
Monday:
  • Practice reading and spelling reds words
  • Read "Mudge the Dog" -dge story
  • Complete the -dge assignment on Seesaw
Tuesday:
  • Practice reading and spelling reds words
  • Read "Dutch the Dog" -tch story
  • Complete the sorting assignment on Seesaw
Seesaw assignments will be available starting at 8:15am on the day they are assigned. Please let me know if you have any questions!
